This weekend is the last weekend for classes this semester. Starting next weekend, we will be facing the much-dreaded exams. I am feeling quite sad that the semester is coming to an end. This semester and last’s are my batch’s specialization semesters, in other words, we are supposed to take up courses which we want to specialize in. As for me, I’m specializing in Islamic Banking and Finance, so including the 2 courses that I’m taking this semester, I’ve taken 4 Islamic banking and finance courses.
Much to my surprise, I truly enjoyed these 2 semesters. I’ve learnt so much about the issues and prospects of the Islamic economy and at the same time, I’ve been enlightened about many things relating to our daily life as Muslims. Really… I am so glad that I decided to specialize in this area. I would have continued to be ignorant about the do’s and don’ts in muamalah and ultimately about the Islamic economy.
For the next semester, which is our final semester, we are required to do 2 elective courses. Somehow, I think I’ve made up my mind. I will carry out a research instead and produce a research paper in the area of Islamic banking and finance.
